Life Coach & Professional Supervisor
I particularly enjoy working with people over 40 years old who want to lead happy, healthy, fulfilling lives. I believe in enjoying life on a daily basis while working towards longer term goals, yet so often I hear the following comments -
- "I'm too busy to do what I really want to do; I have so many obligations..."
- "I know I should be happy with all the things I have in life, but actually I'm not..."
- "I'm not sure what I really want; I just know that life is not very joyful for me..."
- "How can I possibly think about my job or my life - there are not enough hours in the day!"
- "My job is okay, yet I still think there is something better out there for me..."
- "I'm thinking about retiring, and I'm not sure what I've got to look forward to..."
- "My job is so demanding, I haven't got time to think..."
If these comments sound rather familiar to you, and you are prepared to make some changes - then let's talk!
Experience I can offer you includes:
More than 10 years experience working as a life coach, professional supervisor and career consultant with a wide range of people of different ages, ethnicity, educational and health backgrounds. The common factor is that people want to live a better quality of life.
I am a "portfolio worker" which means I work part time for an organisation as a Career Consultant (CareersNZ) and the rest of the time in my coaching and professional supervision business. Working this way allows me to work with so many different people from all walks of life, which is a real privilege.
Prior to my current work I had 30 years experience in the health sector. I originally qualified as a Registered Medical Radiation Technologist working in New Zealand and in London, UK. I gained experience in operational and project management at Dunedin Hospital, and this made me realise how important it is for managers to have a confidential "thinking space" as part of their working life. This is one of the main reasons why I now offer Professional Supervision to people in positions of responsibility. As someone outside of their organisation and profession I can provide a confidential environment for them to think, plan and reflect...and to be challenged as well!
Outside of work I appreciate living on the wonderful Otago Peninsula with my partner and four-legged family. Animals have always been a very important part of my life. They are wonderful companions and confidants! Walking, photography, being with friends, reading and spending time alone are all important parts of my life.
Thanks to fellow students Paul, Phillipa & Tim from the 2011 Wanaka Art School photography class for the photos on my website.
